 "Magic can be beautiful….” Eddie raises his chin and takes one hopeful glance at the sky, maybe seeking the appearance of the first star to twinkle beyond the trees. Christine looks up with him, but is unable to see anything beyond the darkening sky of branches and leaves and trunks. His voice mellows, somber and careful in its timbre. Without warning, he sings. His voice is soft at first, rich in its alto notes. It pulls her in immediately, and her fingers buzz knowing this is more than just noise. The song builds with purpose in mind, and she hurries a glance away from his mouth and back to the canopied sky.  Little lights twinkle amidst the crowd of leaves and overlapping branches; they dance and dazzle on their own, mesmerizing Christine as they glide together to form a familiar shape above them with the swell of his voice: golden petals of an aurelia flower.

whenever I see fics where sephiroth gets mako poisoning, people usually keep it pretty realistic and make it mild + write him to bounce back from it pretty quick, lol

but what if he actually got like,, SEVERELY mako poisoned, with symptoms like what cloud experienced? i can't imagine how much mako exposure that man has had in his lifetime 😭😭 I feel like even outside of a hypothetical scenario that man has had some form of mako poisoning at least ONCE lmao 😭💀

I actually had him get mako poisoning in my Sephzack fic, Shelter. And considering that the...uh..."plot" was taking place at the same time, I tried to make sure I had him out of commission long enough for it to stick. He does recover, of course. But it's because he's jacked up on plot-related conveniences lmao

When I wrote him with mako poisoning, I mostly had him in a borderline immobile state leaking mako out of pretty much every open orifice, halfway out of his mind. Hojo basically overdoses him to the point where his thoughts are incoherent, not even recognizing the people around him. I'm pretty sure Sephiroth had to have dealt with mako overexposure in canon as well. There's no way Hojo wasn't taking advantage of his heightened abilities and pumping him with more mako than the average soldier. He had to have received some level of poisoning at some point. But a poisoning for Sephiroth is enough to kill several normal soldiers a thousand times over.
